12/7/14 newscast

Thursdays newscast was great. There is nothing that I think we could've improved on. The only problem I had was reading, I couldve done a better job reading but it is okay. I think this was our best newscast in terms of preparation and seriousness.

#2 Film review

The Movie I chose to review is, "The Wizard of Oz."

the Wizard of Oz is a 1 hour and 52 minute movie about a girl named Dorothy who lives in Kansas with her dog Toto. Everything is well until too their surprise a tornado comes through Kansas ripping through the whole town and whisk away Dorothy and Toto to the magical land of Oz. There in the colorful land of Oz Dorothy goes through many obstacles and meets new people on her way home. By following the yellow brick rode she meets new friends like a tin man without a hear, a lion with-ought courage, and a scarecrow with ought a brain. So, once they all become friends by following the yellow brick rode after facing the wicked witch and all of her flying monkeys they find the mystical Oz wizard who is known to make peoples witches come true. Surprisingly the "magical wizard turns out to be just a regular guy being a screen and a voice magnifier, and all of their hopes of having a heart, brain, courage, and returning home were lost. Ironically the magical wizard of Oz told them that they already found what they were looking for because all throughout the movie the things that were required to defeat the witch and make it to Oz was the things that they were all looking for. In the end Dorothy clicks her heels 2 times and returns home where surprisingly she wakes up from a dream for an unexpected ending.

This movie is one of the greatest movies of all time and comes in two version of black and white and in color. No matter what mood your in the wizard of Oz is a great movie that has a lot of twist and turn for every spectator. The beautiful scenes and colorful setting ensure you that every moment of the "Wizard of Oz" will keep you on your feet and awake.

11/ 14/14 news cast

Friday/ Thursdays newscast was really good in my opinion. Everything was on point from the cameras to the anchors. Everyone did their part to make it a good news cast. The only little problem we had was the news anchor. Matt did good its just sometimes he cant think of the words to say. Im not saying hes bad its just he could get better at his job just like all of us. But he is good and to be honest i couldn't do weather man the way he does.

november 7 news cast

This cast went well but like all it wasn't perfect. We get closer and closer to being perfect every cast. One of the problems was me, I couldve been more enthusiastic while on anchor three. I sound like I am not really exited about it and i see what Mr. Schick means when he says be more exiting. Also the news, we need to do better in our transitions to the maps with ought all the movement in the camera, but overall it went well and we hope to critique it  next week.

movie review #1 King Kong

My movie that i will be reviewing is King Kong produced by Peter Jackson in 2005. This movie is about a massive ape that the actors (Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Naomi Watts, and more) discover while discovering an adventured pack, dangerous, exiting uncharted island. In this review I will go through and describe the important clips of the movie (in my opinion) that either are amazing clips of the movie or parts that don't get as much credit as they should.
King Kong Poster

Lets begin:
In the beginning of the movie, it opens with film of the New York Zoos many animals including monkeys, apes, tigers and more. It is foreshadowing already what the movie is about. The song it opens with is catchy and the beginning hooks the viewer in with its images and tone. The setting is old time New York in the big crowded city with everyone walking around, the traffic jams, and common events that happened in New York back then. After the introduction it opens with Naomi Watts in the theater that  closes down which "jump starts" the movie. Then they cut to Jack Black an ambitious movie maker who craves money, to be famous, and to make a great movie. Later the two characters meet and have dinner and talk about the movie business and eventually end up on the ship towards the island. On the ship we meet Jack (Adrien Brody) another main character in the movie who plays an actor of a movie in a movie. The ship leaves before he can get off and he is forced to go to the island. Throughout the movie they continue to play exiting music to influence your mood and feelings. On the ship Jack and Naomi develop a relationship that carries on throughout the movie. They soon reach the island but their ship is crashed and now they are stranded  until they can find a way off. On the island all of the people just want to get off of the island while the main character (Jack Black) just wants to make a good movie. When they land on the island none of them have any idea where they are but they think it is deserted and nobody has lived there for hundreds of years. By their surprised they are attacked and imprisoned by a group of scary looking "black" people that are in a tribe. Before they meet those people and before they even show what happens they show skulls and sounds that are made to male the viewer feel frightened and nervous about whats going to happen. After they escape the tribe and make it back on the ship which they manage to get working a group of the tribe manages to make it on the ship and take Ann (Naomi Watts) where they then attempt to sacrifice her to king Kong. Once the crew members of the ship realize she is gone they rush over to the island to save her, But by the time they got there she was already taken by King Kong. As time goes on and they are looking for her they go through some pretty rigorous task and some people end up dying. The detail of the island and the scenes on it are just spectacular. It is edited to look like an old prehistoric dangerous island with dinosaurs, giant insects, and of course King Kong.

Ironically King Kong and Ann (Naomi) develop a kind of friendly relationship where he protects her from the dangers like dinosaurs and more. Speaking of the dinosaur scene the director really does a great job on making the events in the movie action packed and constant as the viewer remains ambitious throughout the movie even if he/she has already seen it. After the crew meets up with Ann and King Kong they start fighting and the crew members end up winning which in effect causes them to take King Kong back to New York with them where he starts trouble and escapes from the chains that were holding him down. All he wanted was to find Ann and as soon as he saw Jack (Adrien) he got intensely angry and tried to kill him. Later when King Kong finds Ann he tries to take her and have her all by himself, climbing to the top of the Empire State building where he is then gunned down and killed by the humans of New York City. In the end the movie becomes a big hit and they make a lot off money off of it which was the goal. Although they reached their ultimate goal of money and or fame, they all (the survivors) changed as they realized that their life would never be the same.

Overall King Kong is an excellent action packed 10/10 rated movie that I would recommend to you if you haven't seen it. The movie is a perfect example of everything that you would want in a movie such as drama, tragedy, love, action, and more. This movie has earned a spot on the list of the greatest movies of all time and will continue to be on that list.

10/3/14 news cast

Thursdays news cast in my opinion wasn't as great as it could have been. First of all the film on you tube is blurry and can only go up to 480p. Second our anchors are reading the scripts like its a news paper, where is the excitement? They are also having some trouble with some words, this is a sign that they should be better prepared for the news cast. The weather was okay as well, Matt does a good job explaining the weather it's just the map he has trouble with because he really doesn't know how to read it. I could've done my job better on the map and weather part by not getting the computer in the shot and just the map. Overall it was a good jc news cast that could be improved like all.

News blog review.

Yesterday's news cast went very well however it was not perfect. A couple of incidents kept our news cast from being perfect. For example a few camera issues. I messed up a little on the news when we switched to the weather because it was hard to adjust the camera going straight from the news to the map. Our anchors didn't do a good job looking at the camera even though eye contact is very important. Also in a few individual shots of a person, Luke's elbow was in the shot of the camera. I was kind of proud of myself since it was my first day on the camera and I got the hang of it pretty fast. Our newscast has been posted and everybody seems to like it but hopefully next time our newscast will be better talking.
